Adam & Eve

[ 13 ] And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. [ 14 ] And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: [ 15 ] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. [ 16 ] Unto the woman he said , I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. [ 17 ] And unto Adam he said , Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy lif...

the glorious future

God creates a famine in Canaan where Israel is living with his 11 sons. Joseph his 12th and most favorite son is off in Egypt getting ready to save everybody from starvation. But Israel, his dad, doesn't know that, Israel thinks that Joseph is dead. So God creates this famine and essentially drives Israel down to Egypt looking for food. After some shenanigans by Joseph, he convinces the whole family to move to Egypt. So the point is God creates a famine, God provides food in Egypt, and God moves his chosen people out of the promised Land and into a pagan land that God wants to punish. Then God waits for everybody to die of old age, and then rather than having the people of Israel, now multiplying, move back to Canaan and back to the promised land where they belong, God has them stay and become victims of cruel Egyptian kings. You may have noticed that God is doing all this. So now God gets ready to bring the nation of Israel out of Egypt and back to the promised la...

seems odd

Noah and his sons and their four wives come off of the Ark and start multiplying upon the face of the Earth. The Bible plainly states that the entire Earth was repopulated by these eight people. So at first they seem sort of like one big happy family at the Tower of Babel. Then God changes their language into many languages and suddenly they almost don't seem like they have the same DNA anymore. They spread out all over the Earth and they appear to form very unfriendly alliances and relationships. Apparently it becomes common for them to kill each other. About the time we get to Abraham the people living on the earth don't seem like relatives at all. Abraham views the Egyptians as extremely dangerous. He asks Sarah to lie or tell a half truth to keep him alive. I haven't looked into this carefully but it seems like the first time we see anybody going back and talking about us all coming from Noah is in the New Testament. I think there are a couple of lists of descendants i...

who's going to pay for those pigs ?

In one Miracle Jesus orders demons out of a man. The demons ask Jesus to send them into a herd of pigs. Jesus says go and the demons go into the pigs causing them to run down a steep cliff and be drowned in the sea. Hey I just lost a whole herd of pigs. Who's going to pay for that?

why ?

Why was Jesus willing to change an inanimate object to food in one place, but unwilling to do it in another place? When Jesus is tempted by Satan to change rocks into bread Jesus refuses by replying man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Satan did not argue with him on this point or continue that line of reasoning. Satan moved on to his next temptation without any further comment at all. When Jesus is at a wedding party they run out of wine. Jesus' mother comes and says Jesus they've run out of wine. Jesus says what have I to do with you woman it is not my time yet. She persists in Jesus then changes water into wine. I think the Bible states that this is the first miracle that Jesus did. So apparently Jesus produced his first wine before his time. (Haha)
